Q: What is Kiwanis?

A: Kiwanis International is an volunteer-led organization with clubs through-out the world. Kiwanis serves children and youth using two approaches. One attempts to improve the quality of life directly through activities promoting health, education, etc. The other tries to encourage leadership and service among youth. Kiwanis sponsors about 7,000 youth service clubs with nearly 320,000 youth members.

Q: What is Kiwanis Perth-on-Tay?

A: The Kiwanis Club of Perth-on-Tay is a chapter of Kiwanis International based in Perth, Ontario, Canada. The Kiwanis motto is “Serving the Children of the World” and our chapter helps children and youth in and around Perth and Lanark County.

Q: I am interested in volunteering, can I join your club?

A: We are always looking for new members. Feel free to stop by one of our meetings held at various places in and around Perth. Please consult our calendar for dates and times of our meetings.

Q: I don't have much time to volunteer but I would still like to help. How can I help?

A: Volunteering at Kiwanis is not a full time job. You can donate as little or a much time as you can. Our local model is Kiwanis 123: Attend 1 meeting per month; give 2 hours of service; have 3 hours of fellowship.

Q: How does Kiwanis help in our community of Perth?

A: Fundraisers are carried out through the year. With the funds, we conduct the Kiwanis Terrific Kids program in 12 area elementary schools, to promote good citizenships and help counter bullying. We support The Perth and the Lanark Youth Groups, Air Cadets, the Snowsuit Fund, Kid Fish, Perth Library Summer Reading Program, the Food Bank, Interval House, and the GWM Hospital Foundation... just to name a few!
